More than treating an illness.
Virtue means moral and intellectual excellence. To us, good medicine begins with the relationship between patient and provider.

“Be a partner, not a dictator.”From the Rules of Virtue Primary Care
Medicine as a moral and intellectual craft
Virtue’s approach centers on relationships, patient education, thoughtful prescribing, and research-backed care. It makes room for the whole person—not only a diagnosis. The practice takes its name from founder Dr. Jeremy Gomer’s doctoral work on moral and intellectual excellence.
Our rules. Every day.
- Provide hope, not fear
- Look at the patient, not the computer screen
- Put relationships before insurance issues
- Try not to make patients wait
- If you make them wait, make the wait worthwhile
- Give advice, not intimidation
- Answer the phone
- If we make a mistake, say sorry
- Have a sense of humor
- If red tape is seen, cut it
- Have a personality, and don't be a robot
- Be a partner, not a dictator
- Give insight and explanation
- Ask for God's blessings, on us and our patients
